Faculty Advisor

Dr. Omar J. Khan, Assistant Professor of Marketing, Maine Business School

Dr. Omar Khan is the faculty advisor to the student chapter of the American Marketing Association at the University of Maine. As Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Maine Business School, he has published academic research in leading marketing and international business journals, and teaches International Marketing and the capstone Managerial Marketing course. His two main streams of research are (i) regionalization of firms and countries, mode-of-entry, and emerging markets; and (ii) online consumer behavior and electronic entrepreneurship. He has also worked on global supply chain projects and in knowledge management. Away from academia, he enjoys writing poetry and short stories, and has an incurable addiction to cricket (the sport, not the insect). Prior to joining the Maine Business School, Dr. Khan worked as an analyst for several multinational corporations in the banking, hospitality and oil & gas industries. He has traveled extensively around the world and is thrilled to lend his expertise and experience to AMA students at the Maine Business School.
